A long-standing background with a variety of vessels specifications in the managed fleet enables Premium to adapt to its customers’ particular transportation requirements, whether for clean or dirty cargoes, trading worldwide, performing special STS requirements or any other demanding tasks.

Premium’s predecessor is GMA Maritime SA which has been the Manager of Emmanoulides Family of Dry Bulk and Tanker Fleet in the Caribbean and Central/Latin America Regions. The Owned and Managed Fleet included Dry Bulk Carriers, General Cargo, Oil Product, and Chemical Carriers. Principals’ background in all aspects of the Marine Transportation industry has generated an extensive cross board network that enables Premium to successfully adapt to future challenges.

George Douvros ship management; ship owning and ship broking ventures reflect a vast activity and a solid record in the maritime transportation industry. Founding, Cofounding and having always managing partner's position at Seaction Maritime LLC, Mediterranean Tankers SA, Delta Carriers SA, Delta Shipping & Trading Corp and Continental Shipping & Trading Inc has generated a strong network amd a solid expertise to originate, structure and execute a pipeline of potential shipping investments with significant Returns for the Investors.

Structure Description of Premium’s Shipping Ventures (vessels)

  • Premium Maritime SA the “Upper and Commercial Manager” is a Greece based Ship Management Company (Established Foreign Corporation under Law 89 regulations) with a solid background of its Principals and Top Management of over 150 years of combined experience within Dry and Wet Segments. Premium has vast expertise in Ship Owning, Ship Management and Operations of a great number of Dry Bulk, General Cargo, Tankers & Chemical Tankers with an outstanding track record, worldwide.Premium's duty is the Upper Management of the Venture meaning the supervision of the Technical & Day to Day Operations which include Technical Management of the Fleet, operations, Repair & Maintenance, Security & Safety, Crewing, Procurement & Purchasing has already selected a Third-Party Technical Manager (ie Columbia) as well as the Commercial Management of the Fleet. The Commercial Management includes the Sale & Purchase (S&P) of the Fleet, Chartering & Operations, Finance & Accounting, P&I, H&M & War Risks Insurances and Claims Handling.
  • Premium Experienced Principals are focused and dedicated in sourcing, identifying, structure, acquire and manage shipping investments starting from the Crude Oil and Product Tanker Segments and capitalize the expertise by expanding into any Shipping Segment providing Investors with the flexibility to diversify their own shipping investment portfolio and capitalize shipping markets cyclical
  • Columbia Shipmanagement Ltd - Technical Manager

Columbia Shipmanagement Ltd is the Technical Manager of the Venture. It was established in Limassol, Cyprus, in 1978. With over three decades of experience, CSM has risen to become a leading force in its field by adhering to an unequivocal commitment to quality and efficiency. The company is respected for its pioneering efforts in the implementation of safety of life at sea and safe ship and cargo operations as well as being a leading proponent in the fight against pollution and other environmental hazards.

Columbia Management outsourcing services include:

  • Provision of competent officers and crew, certified as required and also with qualifications as considered necessary for the vessel and the trade; arranging their joining and repatriation as well as all related functions, as required, including union relations, medical examinations, etc.
  • Supply of provisions, stores, consumables and other required stores
  • Provision of lubricating oils
  • Maintenance of the vessel to the agreed standard including repairs, dry docking and provision of spares and in the case of tankers, fulfilling the requirements of the oil majors
  • Keeping of records and ensuring that the vessel is well documented with all certificates, manuals, etc., as required for the agreed trades
  • Provision of insurance for the vessel as agreed, but with a minimum of H&M. War and P&I insurance and also handling and settling of claims
  • Provision of running budgets for the vessel and full running cost accounts including budget comparisons with comments, balance sheet and profit and loss statement
  • Provision of agreed technical and condition reports
  • Allocation of superintendent to the vessel, with the necessary back-up, who will be responsible for the technical/economical operation of same and will visit the vessel at regular intervals or whenever required
  • Handling of all operational matters for spot market or time-chartered vessels such as pre-fixture voyage estimates, post fixtures, voyage instructions, monitoring vessel´s performance
  • Handling of charter party disputes, FDD and cargo claims, bunkering, appointment of agents, freights and hire

Mr. Dimitrios Emmanouilidis Chief Executive Officer, Executive Member of Board of Directors Specialties: Marine Transportation & Operations
D.E. has Twenty-Four (24) years of experience in the Marine Transportation. He was the  COO  and  CSO (Company Security Officer) of G.M.A. Maritime S.A. since 2005, was born in 1972. He was  heading  the Operations and Chartering Dep’t. D.E. began his apprenticeship with the N.G. Moundreas Shipping Co. and further with the Frangos Shipping Co., (jointly GOOD FAITH Shipping) and thereafter in the company Tramp Maritime, in the chartering department. After completing his military service in the Greek Navy in 1994, he joined G.M.A. Maritime S.A. whereas he headed the Commercial & Operation Departments. He holds a BSc degree from the John Moore’s Maritime and Transport College.
